Writer's picture: Randy DykhuisRandy Dykhuis

On Thursday November 9, 2023, almost 40 residents from the Millett Highway neighborhood gathered to hear from groundwater experts about the contamination found in residential wells. The contamination is consistent with pollution found from leaking coal ash impoundments, one of which is nearby at the Erickson Station power plant.

They heard from three experts in groundwater and industrial pollution. We have the presentations from two of the presenters.

Bob Delaney, geologist, spent more than 30 years working on environmental issues for the state of Michigan. He recently retired from the Michigan Department for Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE).

Evin Maguire, geologist, has been working for EGLE since 2019 in the Materials Management Division. He has been actively involved in the situation at the Erickson Station power plant.
